Kevin Fitzmaurice, M.D. Internal Medicine

Dr. Kevin Fitzmaurice brings excellence to the practice of medicine since joining Encompass in 1989 when it was still known as Prime Health.

He graduated from Creighton University with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and completed medical school at the University of Nebraska in 1985. He finished his internal medicine training in 1989 in Denver, Colorado at Presbyterian St. Luke’s Hospital system.

Dr. Fitz (as he is known to many) has always enjoyed visiting with and helping others and being a physician has always been a great joy and a calling for him. Dr. Fitzmaurice and his wife Karen have 2 sons, Matthew and Adam, who no longer live in Kansas City but when they were growing up here Dr. Fitz volunteered many hours coaching their sports teams, serving as a Boy Scout leader and getting a black belt in Tae Kwon Do with them.

Now he spends a lot more time with his favorite past time and hobby of gardening and working in the yard. He enjoys exercising and trying to keep in shape and still runs a few miles every week. He also seems to always find time for the occasional golf game or fishing or hunting trip and gets in a trip to the beach in Mexico every year.

Dr. Fitzmaurice has been the president of Encompass Medical Group for 18 of the 20 years they have been in existence and he also continues to practice full-time internal medicine at the Lenexa clinic.

Unfortunately he is no longer accepting new patients as he works to take care of all of those folks that have become his patients and friends over the years.
