Premier Imaging offers individualized, patient-centered care through our patient navigation and risk identification programs; these programs
allow the Premier Imaging breast center staff to create a focused and
personal treatment plan. Our team of professionals include qualified
specially trained radiologists, registered mammography and
ultrasonography technologists, and certified breast navigators.
Our unique risk identification approach starts with an annual
screening mammogram. During this initial appointment, each patient is asked to complete a questionnaire pertinent to personal history and family histories. The answers to these questions are then transferred into two different risk identification models, Tyrer Cusick and GAIL, to develop a “score.” This numerical score will place each patient into a category of
average or elevated risk. The category each patient falls into and their breast health will determine the specific prevention or treatment plan.
Encompass Medical Group is pleased to introduce wide-angle 3D mammography as an adjunct to traditional 2D mammography. The wide-angle imaging offers enhanced clarity to aid in diagnosis of breast cancer. This technique helps separate overlapping breast tissue to enhance micro-calcifications which is the earliest sign of breast cancer.
Premier Imaging at Wornall features an ACR Certified Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, offering 3D screening mammography, diagnostic mammography, 3D breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and minimally invasive breast biopsies performed by specially trained breast imaging radiologists.
